Prison Break Season 1
Overview
Prison Break Season 1 is the first season of Fox's serial drama. The series follows Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), a structural engineer who gets himself sent to prison to help his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), escape death row. Lincoln has been framed for the murder of the Vice President's brother. Michael has the blueprints of the prison tattooed on his body, and he has an elaborate escape plan. The first season is set in Fox River State Penitentiary, a maximum-security prison in Illinois. Michael navigates the dangers of prison life, making alliances with other inmates, including Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), a good-natured thief who becomes Michael's closest friend and ally; Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (Robert Knepper), a racist, psychopathic killer who is both a threat and an unlikely asset; Benjamin "C-Note" Franklin (Rockmond Dunbar), a former soldier who was dishonorably discharged and is trying to protect his family; and John Abruzzi (Peter Stormare), a mob boss who has a personal vendetta against the man who put him in prison. Michael also develops a relationship with Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), the prison's doctor and the governor's daughter, who becomes an unwitting part of his plan. The first season is a masterpiece of suspense, with the escape plan unfolding episode by episode. The season ends with the inmates successfully escaping from the prison, but not without casualties and complications. Prison Break was a massive ratings success, and it won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series Drama.
